Trump cannot define what a woman is

It bears repeating that authoritarian and fascist regimes start their consolidation of power by firing undesirables and those they cannot control. The Trump Whitehouse has systematically purged anyone who has worked on DEI projects, and unless the courts step in is seeking to purge the US military of all transgender personnel. This echoes Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, Ba’athist Iraq, and many other regimes who have stripped out people for no other reason than their identity. What Trump and the US far right forget is that while they can attempt to purge people, those they strip out of the system brought value and drive that will cause significant loss to the US. They also forget that plurality is a virtue, bringing strength through different perspectives, and by unilaterally imposing their understanding of sex, race, and religion they both alienate and undermine the system they seek to govern.

Trump’s first day in office saw him define sex as assigned at conception, namely a manifest destiny set over every American that no-one ought to be legally able to escape from. This echoes Jim Crow race laws, with the understanding that purity of blood was based on the imposition of others based purely on debunked race theory. Globally those who advocate for race laws forget that the concept of race was explicitly incepted to control non-white bodies, and that white purity is a myth based on…
