One — Find your happy place

Your life is your own to shape. No-one else can determine how you walk through the world, and while many people may try to influence you, ultimately you have to find the space that works for you. There is no one way to exist as a trans person in the world, so while you may feel pressure to conform to a certain aesthetic, how you conceive and perceive of yourself is based on your own understanding. Finding your own happy space in terms of self and looks is pivotal as it allows you to move through the world on your own terms.

Two — All the clothes, all the things

Exploring your identity is part of any transition, especially when you first come out. Clothes, make-up, hair styles, personal grooming, jewellery, and all the other things that externalise your sense of self are there to be mixed, remixed, and squished together to create you that you wish to project to others. Exploring is a natural part of who we all are, an inherent part of coming out and becoming this affirmed version of yourself. However, there also needs to be mindfulness in how you move through the world, as societal expectations with respects to job appropriate clothing need to be accounted for when loving full time.
