Online spaces suffer from anonymity when it harms LGBTQI+ people
In June 2026 I experienced my first doxxing incident on social media where a gender critic scraped a 12 year old government document which had personal details I have never disclosed in public. I reported the account to the social media platform and only some of the information was scrubbed. What is frustrating for me is that gender critics believe this is reasonable behaviour when engaging with trans people, to the point where it feels like malicious harassment which I would report to the police if it were a public account. Many trans people go through similar experiences, and I have had friends who have lost jobs, university places, and suffered psychological harms through such practices.
When people like Sall Grover and Helen Joyce are platformed by the media and funded by deep pockets it demonstrates to those who trail in their wake that the pain, suffering, and trauma caused to trans people by gender critical abuse will not face censure or be called out by any social media platform. When trans people highlight the abuse to those who have the power to reign in this abuse we are denied remedy because gender critical abuse is framed as freedom of speech worthy of protection in a democratic society. Trans trauma is deemed a worthy price to pay for such freedom.
