LGBT disinformation is just the start

In 2013 Russia passed a draconian anti-LGBT law which outlawed any public display of queer information. In 2025 a series of executive orders from the Trump White House wiped governmental websites of any trans related content and began a Federal attack on anything they deemed woke. For Russians it began over a decade of anti-LGBT repression, and the weaponisation of queer identities to be used against political opponents. To be trans in America is to be a scape goat for failed political policies, to be accused of being trans is enough to be beaten, and to help trans people is to be accused of high crimes and misdemeanours against women and children.
The history of weaponising LGBT idenities is complex, especially when those identities are made illegal before the law. The Nazis: A Warning from History laid out how the Nazi regime weaponised all forms of identity to suppress all forms of dissent, relating the story of a woman called Ilya Sonia Toska who was accused of being a lesbian by her neighbours and ended up in a camp. In the present day in Saudia Arabia, Iran, and Gaza being homosexual is enough to be executed as an enemy of the people, heads chopped off, hung from a rope, and thrown from the top of buildings.
