Framing trans women
If you want to denigrate someone what better way than to call them a groomer and mutilator, with an added dash of throwing child crimes into the mix. Trans folk are being framed as pseudo-criminals, crypto abusers by exclusionary feminists, the very routes into understanding yourself as an abusive pipeline akin to praying away the gay. In framing trans women as criminals, it frames trans identities and trans experiences as degenerate, in need of restrictions and eradication. Being trans is framed as cult like behaviour, in need of deprogramming, rather than something that is just part of the human condition.
One of the go to abuses of trans identities is to post images of trans women in ill fitting outfits, bad wigs, and overblown makeup, showing us as monsters and monstrous abstractions of womanhood, as if this is all trans women are. It asks the viewer to demean trans identities, to see them as pastiches, and then when a trans woman is convicted of an actual crime they are held up as exemplars of trans women in general. Trans women are framed as predators in waiting, criminals in being if not in actuality.
