Andrew Tate, Matt Walsh, and Laurence Fox: Three horsemen of enshitification
One has to wonder how serious right wing pundits are, whether their mask will slip, and one day they will simply say “Gottcha, didn’t mean it!” Then you watch their social media channels and you realise just how intentioned they actually are. Matt Walsh pushes a far-right Catholic agenda that he makes no bones of hiding. Andrew Tate has his own man-cult going on, and despite his rape charges still seems to be idolised the world over. And finally Lozza Fox, the archetypal British grifter, rides on their coat tails trying to drum up enough support for his ailing political movement to at least book a phone box for his next live show. Each has crafted their echo chambers finding audiences desperately seeking anyone who will affirm their racist, homophobic, and nativist beliefs in a way that does not challenge their bigotry. What a world we live in.
Of course, without Elon, Rupert, and all the other right wing press enabling them they would still be sat festering in the corner of a pub somewhere, or, you know, a bierkeller. Each has their own grift going on, the sort that relies on dupes paying over the odds for anti-woke razors, chocolates, overpriced phone plans, and meat, the things that any true blooded stooge needs in their lives.
